First Skin

The first skin contact between a mother and her child is one of the most important and heart warming stages of the process.  Sweaty, covered in gunk and still attached, that baby is placed with the mother and for a second or two (although it feels a lot longer) everything goes calm.

The photograph speaks for itself and again it is graphic but that adds to the beauty.
